What is COVID-19?

COVID-19 is a new disease that is part of the “large family” of coronaviruses. It is a pathogenic virus that causes a variety of illnesses in humans, ranging from “classic” colds to much more serious lung infections that cause, for example, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).
